From Our AFSP Chairs

Aragon’s culture is built on a long tradition of excellence. In 2012, Aragon placed in the top 1% of high schools nationwide in U.S. News & World Report. Aragon’s API score was 849 in 2012 and we have eight straight years achieving the State’s 800+ score goal. As a result of our educational excellence with a strong and broad curriculum as well as a vested faculty, 98% of Aragon graduates pursue further education.

The Aragon Fair Share Plan (AFSP) Committee is committed in continuing Aragon’s tradition of excellence. We raise funds to pay salaries for key Aragon personnel and to sustain and enrich valuable Aragon programs. This ensures that all students can reach their potential and that the school can offer a wide variety of classes.

Thanks to our generous donors, we raised over $425,000 in the 2012-2013 school year. As a result, Aragon students continue to receive a phenomenal education with no reduction in resources and programs.

We are launching our 2013-2014 campaign on May 1, 2013 with a goal of $430,000. These monies will primarily fund:

1. Teachers & Staff for:
   1. Reduced Class Sizes (Freshman and Sophomore English and Algebra 1-2 from 31-34:1 to 25-28:1)
   2. Expanded Course Offerings
   3. Support Staff to allow more teacher-student time
2. Technology and Supplies for the Classroom, Professional Development and Other Essentials for the Teachers, and Parent and Student Services such as communications and college planning tools
