Aragon Fair Share

Over 500 families participated in last year’s Aragon Fair Share Plan (AFSP) campaign, our principle fundraiser, and we raised over $340,000!  Thanks to your generosity, we will fund:

  1. Essential Department Classroom Equipment
  2. Five Sections of Classes
  3. Classified Staff that Supports Teacher-Student Time
  4. Full-time Library Aide Extended Library Hours
  5. Computer Lab Aide
  6. Campus Supervisor (security)
  7. Full-time Teacher for After-School Tutoring
  8. Office Assistant                                                      

Because of your financial support Aragon students continue to receive a phenomenal education, with no reduction in staff or facilities due to budget cuts, at the best high school in the San Mateo Union High School District.

 

For the 2009 – 2010 school year, the state of California is facing unprecedented educational budget cuts.  Our district will face cuts of approximately $1.8 million. The full cost of operating Aragon at its current level is no longer covered by either state or district funding.  Our community is uniquely devoted to ensuring our children’s future success. To maintain the academic excellence of our school that the community demands, we need your AFSP pledge of $500 per student now more than ever.

Our goal for this year’s 2009-2010 Fair Share campaign is $350,000. For Aragon to save the staff that we fund, we need your pledges for the full goal and actual payments of $175,000 by July 1st. We are a diverse community so if you are able, please consider giving at a higher level than Fair Share.

We are seeking 100% participation, at your comfort level. Because of the current economic environment and based on last year’s contributions, we need at least 200 new families to contribute at the $500 Fair Share level or higher to make goal. All donors will be listed by gift level in the weekly A-news to honor them. The success of this year hangs on each and every family and their friends!
