Aragon Asian Parent Group

The Aragon Asian Parent Group (“AAPG”) kicked off the new 2016-2017 year with booths at PTSO’s Jump Start, welcoming parents of new and continuing Asian students.

Aragon Asian Parent Group's first event of the year was a huge success. On Thursday, Aug. 18th, we invited 11 Aragon Alumni from Stanford, Santa Clara University, Cal Poly SLO, Carnegie Mellon, Boston University, UC Berkeley & San Diego, Washington University in St. Louis, and College of San Mateo to participate in a panel discussion, sharing their experience, wisdom and insights as they have journeyed successfully through their first year of college.

We were fortunate to have Mr. Ed Sun, our AAPG Vice President and Stanford/Harvard Alumnus, to be the moderator of the event.  Our panelists shared the valuable experiences they had with teachers and classes at Aragon that helped them discover their college majors and career paths.  The discussion covered topics from advices on Aragon AP classes, taking SAT & ACT, writing college application essays, Early Action and Early Decision application processes and timeline, to activities that helped shape their individuality and impacted their college decisions.

The event was well attended by over a hundred students and parents.  AAPG is grateful for the Aragon community continued support for all our events.

For more information or questions regarding the College Panel or AAPG Membership, please feel free to contact Sherri Haslam, AAPG Co-President, at

We thank the Aragon Counseling Office, Ms. Laurie Tezak and our Aragon school administration for their support, as always.

Please see our full calendar (PDF at left), and note our General Membership Meetings and Join the Aragon Asian Parent Group!   Watch out for School Announcement updates on the showing of the Screenagers-the Movie in November 2016.  All AAPG members will receive email updates.

With your participation, ideas, and annual donation, you will be part of a community that fosters high academic achievement, encourages well rounded growth of our students, grants AAPG scholarship awards for Asian students at Aragon, encourages parent networking, and organizes important cultural, educational, and family programs for our Aragon community.

Download the AAPG 2016-2017 Membership Form, make the check payable to Aragon High School PTSO-AAPG, and drop it off or mail it to the school office.

Contact the Aragon Asian Parent Group Executive Board with any questions and to volunteer!
